Chinese Cuisines – A Brief Study On The Amazing Cuisine

China is a huge country and its cuisines reflect both the diversity and size with different regions of the country adopting different approaches to cooking.. Chinese cuisines are popular worldwide, none more famous than Cantonese and Szechuan which are popular in the west. Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shangdong, Anhui and Fujian are some of the other famous Chinese cuisines. There is a huge range of popular Chinese dishes, so it’d be futile to try and catalogue all of them here. However, we could jot down a few of the more famous Chinese dishes:

Congee: Congee is a kind of porridge that is generally made of rice but can also constitute of commeal, sorghum, barley and millet.

* Dumplings – Chinese dumplings may be fried (“guotie”), steamed (“jiaozi”) or boiled (“shuijiao”), and generally contain ground meat or vegetables.

* General Tso’s Chicken – This is an American-Chinese dish that’s famous in North America, but rarely eaten in China itself. The chicken is deep-fried, and served in a sweet and spicy sauced.

* Kung Po Chicken – A highly spiced chicken dish containing Sichuan peppercorns, Shaoxing wine, and nuts (peanuts or cashew nuts are used). In the West, the dish is often adapted with some of the standard ingredients – e.g., bell peppers can be used for flavoring.

Peking Duck: Its basically roasted duck that is doused in syrup and then served with plum sauce, pancakes and scallions.

This is a simple boilded egg that is laced with herbs spices and soy sauce

Xiaolongbao – This is an extended variety of sandwich and is basically steamed bun containing seafood, vegetables and meat soup. The meat soup is not prepared before hand, infact meat gelatin is sandwiched inside a gap within the bun and allowed to cook and form into soup.

This is a unique dish. Its packaged bamboo leaves containing glutinous rice and some vegetable or meat filling.
