How To Make Mozzarella Cheese

Mozzarella cheese is usually used with your pizza, lasagna and some salads. Although mozzarella cheese can be easily bought from your local grocery shop but having being stored at the shop for so long, it might not taste as great as those from the restaurants. Other than that, people in today’s society have the mindset of getting everything off the shelves of the store.

Not everything off the stores is definitely better. Why not try making your very own fresh and tasty mozzarella cheese right at home?

First you will need to prepare the ingredients:

* 1 gallon of whole milk * 2 teaspoon of critic acid * rennet tablet that is dissolved in cup of distilled water * teaspoon of flaked salt

Other things that you will need:

* At least an 8 quart enameled/stainless steel pot * Thermometer (To measure the heat of the mozzarella cheese) * Cheesecloth lined strainer * Microwave container * Microwave oven * Plastic Wrap

Let’s start cooking!

1. Pour the milk into the stainless steel pot and set the fire at medium heat. (You might want to gradually increase the heat.) 2. Pour the critic acid and stir it well. 3. Stir the mixture every now and then until it reaches 88 degree F. 4. Add in the rennet and continue stirring until the mixture reaches 105 degree F. 5. Remove the pot from the fire and place the pot’s lid to cover it for 15 minutes. 6. Pour the mixture through the cheesecloth lined strainer to remove the curds from the strainer. 7. Place the remaining mixture in a microwave container. 8. Set the microwave on high for 1 minute. 9. Press on the mass to remove as much whey as possible. (Drain all the whey from the cheese before proceeding on to the next step.) 10. Knead the mass for a few minutes. 11. Set the microwave on high for another 1 minute. 12. Continue kneading the mass until it stretches like taffy. (You can continue kneading the mass if you want it to have a firmer texture.) 13. Wrap the mass or now known as the cheese in the plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to chill. 14. The cheese is ready to serve.

And now, proudly present your home-made cheese! Done in a few steps and probably tasted better than those found in the grocery shop as it is fresher.
