How To Lose Weight Through Diet And Exercise Regimen
Just by staying focused on my diet and following a few general health tips, I’ve managed to lose 23 pounds over the last five months, and it looks like the weight is going to keep coming off. This is the longest that I’ve ever stayed committed to a single diet, and it’s also the most weight that I’ve ever lost at once; I’m pretty proud of my accomplishments.
I think it’s much easier to stick with my diet this time because it’s making some positive changes that I feel every day. As I’m feeling better, I also have more confidence in my diet since I know I’ll be able to stick with it for an extended period of time. Here are a few tips for achieving this kind of success with your own diet.
First, I’m no longer consuming any form of artificial sugar as a part of my diet. I’ve thrown out cane sugar too, so the only sugar in my diet comes from healthy fruits and vegetables.
High fructose corn syrup is the big sweetener that I’m trying most to avoid, as it’s popularly believed to be related to cause massive weight gain and diabetes.
You might think that cutting out this ingredient would be easy, but take a look at the nutrition labels on the foods in your home to make sure. It can even be found in bread and ketchup.
My regular exercise schedule has also helped tremendously. I’m now running five days per week, constantly increasing the distances and running them in a shorter amount of time. My body needed time to adjust to this rigorous schedule, but I now feel great after a run and it certainly helps in burning calories as well.
Finally, I’ve removed diet soda from my diet. I’ve become increasingly convinced that these beverages can actually trigger weight gain despite being labeled as “diet” drinks and containing no calories.
Some have stated that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas actually have a negative effect on your body chemistry by making your brain think you’ve been consuming sweets, so the body stores fat the same way it would if you were consuming sugar. By simply drinking water instead, I’ve avoided any unnecessary chemicals that can cause such effects.
